Organizers of the ConExpo-Con/Agg show, held every three years in Las Vegas, say the 2005 show is shaping up as another winner.
The mammoth construction and heavy equipment exposition has already received more than 540 exhibitor reservations claiming more than 1.1 million square feet of outdoor and indoor exhibit space.
One of the show’s co-chairs says that the slump in segments of the construction market has not deterred companies from having a presence at the show. “Equipment manufacturers and industry service providers are still facing tough times, but demand for exhibit space has been extremely strong because our exhibitors remember that in similarly challenging economic conditions in 2002, more than 108,000 of their best customers attended ConExpo-Con/Agg, and many brought their checkbooks and were ready to buy,” says Brenton P. Cook, one of the show’s co-chairs who is also president of Aggregate Industries Inc., Kalamazoo, Mich.
Caterpillar Inc. group president Gerald Shaheen, another show co-chair, says, “We expect a great mix of small and large companies [and] new and returning exhibitors.”
Recyclers can benefit by seeing an array of material handling and processing equipment in one place, as well as by attending recycling-related educational sessions offered as part of ConExpo. More information on the show will be made as it is develops at www.conexpoconagg.com.
The Construction Materials Recycling Association (CMRA), Lisle, Ill., is planning on holding its 2005 annual meeting in conjunction with ConExpo, as it did in 2002.
The 2004 CMRA annual meeting, a conference and trade show known as C&D World, has been scheduled for Jan. 24-28 in New Orleans, with additional information on that show available at www.cdrecycler.com.
