The inaugural ConExpo Asia 2006 attracted more than 13,100 visitors from 75 countries, according to a press release from the event’s organizers.
The show was held May 15-18, 2006, at the China National Agricultural Exhibition Center in Beijing. The top attendee countries were China, followed by Australia, the United States, Korea, India, Japan, Russia, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia. In addition, ConExpo Asia 2006 features 192 exhibitors using 16,099 net square meters of exhibit space. Approximately half of the exhibitors were Chinese companies, with the other 50 percent representing international companies.
“This was our inaugural show, and we are happy that our concept of creating a different type of show in China, run for and by the industry, has been so well received,” says Petra Kaiser, show manager. “This definitely was a buying and selling show. Attendees were very enthusiastic, and the overwhelming majority of exhibitors have told us they will be back and they want to reserve larger exhibit spaces.”
The next ConExpo Asia is already in the planning stages. It is scheduled for the fall of 2007 in Beijing, with the dates and facility to be announced this summer.
