Lebanon, Illinois-based Christ Brothers Asphalt will be opening a new location in Jerseyville, Illinois, a report by The Alton Telegraph says. The facility will break concrete and asphalt down into gravel.
According to the report, the new facility is scheduled to open by spring. The company will not be paying for materials or charging for disposal. An amount of tonnage the facility expects was not disclosed.
The system Christ Brothers Asphalt will use includes a magnetic separator that will pull metals out from debris, which will be sold for scrap, and a diesel-powered portable crusher, the report says. The facility plans to build a stockpile of debris, then begin crushing.
Once the concrete and asphalt is crushed, the report says, the material will be sold to customers in the Jerseyville area. Local third party haulers will transport the materials for use in driveways or roadways.
