More than 20 residents and several local businesses have filed suit to block construction of a ready-mix concrete plant in Auburn, Ill., according to a report in the Springfield State Journal Register (Springfield, Ill.).
The plant would be located on a 12-acre site, which was annexed by the city in June. The lawsuit filed in late July alleges that the annexation and approval of the proposed plant’s special use permit is invalid because the local zoning board did not file required reports with the council first, according to the report.
