Pacific Aggregate has filed an application to establish a construction and demolition debris landfill at its quarry in Maili, Hawaii, according to a report in the Star Bulletin (Honolulu, Hawaii).
The company wants to create the C&D landfill in used parts of the 50-year-old operational Pacific Aggregate Quarry.
A local environmental group called EnviroWatch has alleged that the facility has been accepting crushed concrete and coal ash without a permit, according to the report.
