Commercial Metals Co. (CMC), Irving, Texas, has named John R. McPherson to its board of directors, effective March 15. McPherson's appointment will bring the total number of directors to nine.
McPherson brings more than 30 years of professional experience to CMC's board and currently sits on the board of directors for pipe manufacturer Forterra Inc. He previously served in several executive positions at Vulcan Materials Co., most recently as chief financial and strategy officer. Previously, he held several roles with McKinsey & Co. and Goldman, Sachs & Co.
McPherson received a Bachelor of Arts in economics and a master's in business administration from Stanford University, Standford, California.
