The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Denver, has awarded a Greeley, Colorado, recycling company a $160,000 grant to help the company expand its program and bring more jobs to the state, a report by the Greeley Tribune says. The grant was awarded through the Recycling Resources Economic Opportunity competitive grant program.
Go Green Pallet and Recycling Co. will use the grant to purchase a large wood grinder, which will help the company divert more than 300 years of wood debris per week, the report says. The grinder will create chips for animal bedding or compost form scrap wood and junk pallets.
According to the report, the grinder will remove nearly all metals and can accept wood with nails in it. The company will start to accept clean scrap wood as a service once the grinder is installed.
Go Green is also moving to a new location at 16th Street and Balsam Avenue, where the grinder will be installed Nov. 30, the report says.
