CMRA Meets With California Regulators, Legislative Representatives

Associations seeks support for better access to markets for recycled aggregates.

Members and staff of the Construction Materials Recycling Association (CMRA) recently met with members of the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) to discuss C&D issues in the state.

Specifically, the CMRA was seeking support for better access to all markets for recycled aggregates, and to make sure the agency was aware of the effect the state’s recently passed Greenhouse Gas Bill (AB 32) could have on the wood fuel market which mixed C&D recyclers rely on.

The CMRA people also met with legislative representatives to discuss the make up of the incoming class of state legislators, as 42 seats had turned over in both houses, an unusually high number. There was also discussion on what legislative actions the C&D recycling industry could expect in the upcoming session.
