New officers and a movement toward establishing more chapters were parts of the 2007 Annual Membership Meeting of the Construction Materials Recycling Association (CMRA) Jan. 16 in San Antonio.
Elected president for a two-year term is James Taylor, Taylor Recycling Facility, Montgomery, N.Y. The new vice president is Jonathan Hixon, ERRCO, Epping, N.H. John Adelman of Commercial Paving and Recycling, Scarborough, Maine, has been elected secretary/treasurer.
Three new members were voted onto the board of directors. They are Leonard Cherry, Cherry Demolition, Houston; Dan Brandon, Morbark Inc., Winn, Mich.; and Paul Corriera, New England Recycling, Taunton, Mass.
Other discussion at the meeting centered on the establishment of new chapters of the growing association. One such chapter would be in Texas because of increasing interest in C&D recycling while there remain regulatory issues against the practice. Another would be in Iowa, and a third possibility is the Pacific Northwest.
The next Annual Meeting of the CMRA will be March 12, 2008, at the Treasure Island Resort in Las Vegas. The meeting will be co-located with the ConExpo/ConAgg exhibition.
