Clean Fill Approved for Arizona Pit

As part of a pre-annexation agreement, the Town Council of Florence, Ariz., has agreed to allow Waste Management (WM) to fill the pit in front of the Ironwood Landfill with construction and demolition debris, according to a report in the Casa Grande Valley News (Casa Grande, Ariz.).

The agreement specifies that the pit will be filled with material that may include C&D debris, landscaping rubble, vegetative waste and similar material, but not any industrial material, liquid or anything deemed hazardous, according to the report.
