Celtic Equipment Named New McCloskey Distributor

Celtic will distribute McCloskey products in the state of Indiana.

John O’Neill, vice president of McCloskey International, Peterborough, Ontario, has announced that Indianapolis-based Celtic Equipment Inc. has signed on as the official McCloskey distributor for the state of Indiana.

At ConExpo 2008 in Las Vegas, Celtic Equipment Vice President Colin Conlon said, “We sat down with company President Paschal McCloskey and John O’Neill at the McCloskey display and through discussions and negotiations we decided to take on the line in May of this year.”

He continues, “It’s a great line of products and the McCloskey facility is close enough for us to bring prospective customers to in order to show them the factory, the equipment and the network of support. I know we’re going to work very well together.”

Going into its sixth year of operation, Celtic Equipment Inc. specializes in new and used sales, rentals and service of mobile crushing and screening equipment. The company serves the sand and gravel and “green” organic waste, wood and paper and glass recycling industries from its location in Indianapolis. Conlon says that being centrally located in the middle of Indiana enables Celtic to get anywhere in the state within two or three hours for everything from onsite hydraulic hose repairs to routine maintenance for its customers.

Conlon says that the addition of the full range of McCloskey equipment is a significant move forward for Celtic. “It’s massive for us. We’ll now be able to offer our customers a one-stop shop with everything ranging from a basic transfer conveyor through to a trommel screen to a picking station and flatdeck screener and the new McCloskey C50 Jaw Crusher.”

Since taking on the McCloskey product line, Celtic has hired another sales representative, Justin Hopkins, for the northern part of their territory.

Conlon says that plans for a McCloskey Open House/Demo are underway for March 2009.  “We’ve made arrangements with a local gravel pit to bring in a number of machines. To date, we’ve got a lot of customers interested in participating. We’re really looking forward to it.”
