Cedarapids, a Terex brand based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, that produces modular, portable and static crushing and screening equipment, will preview two of its new developments at the ConExpo-Con/Agg trade fair in March, according to the company.
On display at the event, which takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Center March 3-7, will be a Cedarapids 7CRH5064 portable high-speed horizontal shaft impactor (HIS) crushing plant and a TRAC vibration analyzer, which the firm calls a purpose-built diagnostic system engineered specifically for the crushing and screening industry.
The CRH5064 portable HSI plant has been designed to deliver high-capacity performance with reduced maintenance for quarrying, recycling and demolition applications, according to Cedarapids.
The machine’s horizontal shaft impactor is powered by a 400 horsepower motor and features a high inertia four-bar rotor, monoblock primary curtain with replaceable tips, hydraulic tramp iron relief, hydraulic assisted apron adjustments and a hydraulically opening hood for easier inspection, says the equipment maker.
Cedarapids says CRH5064 prototype testing recorded 600 to 700 tons per hour of production when processing limestone.
The company refers to TRAC as a new vibration analysis system developed in direct response to requests from distributors seeking clearer, more accurate screening diagnostics.
“TRAC has been engineered from the ground up by Terex engineers specifically for crushing and screening environments, with the potential to extend across a broad range of vibrating equipment,” states Cedarapids.
The system uses four Wi-Fi-enabled sensors mounted on the screen structure to capture acceleration, velocity, movement, inclination orbit and bearing behavior. Data collected allows operators to identify issues such as loose components, damaged media, broken springs, hazardous frequencies, imbalance or timing problems and to confirm correct screen installation and performance, says the company.
“ConExpo is the ideal platform to showcase the practical innovations our customers have been waiting for,” says Chris Reed, business line director of Cedarapids. “The CRH5064 reflects our focus on performance and serviceability while TRAC meets a long expressed need from our distributors for a diagnostic tool designed specifically for screening equipment.”
