CDRecycler.com redesigned to better serve mobile users

New mobile-friendly design features enhanced search function.

The Recycling Today Media Group, based in Valley View, Ohio, has unveiled a redesigned and updated version of www.CDRecycler.com that has been optimized for easier navigation, especially for Construction & Demolition Recycling’s (C&DR) fastest-growing user segment — mobile users.

“Recognizing that our readers consume Construction & Demolition Recycling’s news and technical resources in many different electronic formats, the goal of this redesign was to organize and streamline our content for users, whether they are accessing it from an office computer, a tablet or a mobile phone,” says C&DR Publisher James R. Keefe.

The end result is a website designed to offer improved graphics, enhanced news coverage and easier navigation. Highlights include:

Mobile-Friendly Design. All articles, multimedia files (videos, podcasts, webinars, etc.) and other resources have been standardized in a format that is easy to access, and will function properly on most mobile devices.

Enhanced News Coverage. CDRecycler.com has long been the go-to source for comprehensive, up-to-date news coverage on issues affecting the recycling industry. The new website features expanded news coverage accompanied by larger and higher quality photos and graphics. Users still have the ability to access to the full magazine digital edition, ensuring current feature articles are readily available.

Improved Search Engine. The latest version of CDRecycler.com features enhanced search functionality aimed at simplifying the interface for users while providing a rapid response to reader inquiries. Recyclers can now access past news articles, product releases, feature stories, podcasts, webinars and other content quickly and easily, with an “endless scrolling” feature designed to enhance the user experience.

Industry Tools. Transferring seamlessly to the new website is access to the C&D recycling and demolition sector maps and lists upon which readers rely. The C&DR online store, where directories and webinars can be purchased, also remains accessible, as do the media group’s exclusive videos and podcasts, all of which can be downloaded on most mobile devices.

More Social Media Integration. In response to the growing use of social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, the redesigned CDRecycler.com site will better allow its users to easily share website content across these platforms.

Keefe says the Recycling Today Media Group will continue to seek new ways to make its website fully supportive of the industry and that he and other staff members welcome feedback on the redesigned site.
