CDE Ireland Lands Multiple Contracts for Equipment

Company sees strong demand for business as EU calls for increased C&D recycling.

CDE Ireland, based in Ireland, recently announced that it has landed around £4million in contracts for recycling equipment in the UK over the past month.

CDE manufactures equipment for the quarrying and recycling industries.

Following a recent EU Parliamentary commitment to recycle 70 percent of the C&D waste by 2020, the company has tailored its equipment to companies seeking to build and operate C&D recycling plants in the UK. The most recent project is Derwen Construction in Swansea, Wales. The Derwen plant is the first of its kind in Wales and offers a greener alternative to waste disposal at landfill sites. The majority of the materials processed at Derwen originate from green-field excavations and rock overburden; materials which are processed by the CDE plant producing aggregates which conform to both British and European standards and furthermore contribute towards minimizing waste to landfill and meeting landfill targets.

"We are delighted with the £4million recycling contracts last month and are pleased to be contributing to the sustainability of the industry through the provision of our recycling solutions whilst adding significant value for our customers. Given the various legislative changes at both a national and EU level, this is an area that we see becoming increasingly important over the next few years," said Brendan McGurgan, CDE managing director.
