Kimberly Ingles of Caterpillar Inc. has been announced as the 2008 winner of the AEM Outstanding Young Engineer Award, sponsored by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) for SAE International.
The AEM award was first presented in 1996. AEM underwrites the award as part of its efforts to promote workforce development and excellence. The candidate must be a degreed engineer from the off-highway or power plant industry with less than 10 years of industry experience.
The award recognizes an outstanding young engineer in the off-highway or power plant industry who demonstrates innovation, teamwork, integrity, community involvement and leadership in SAE International activities.
Ingles is a design engineer in the Large Power Systems Division of Caterpillar Inc. She joined the company in 2001 as a design engineer for Dozer Systems with the Track Type Tractors Division. In 2005, she assumed her current role for C12 and C13 marine engines. Her responsibilities include new product introduction, continuous product improvement and engineering support.
