Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, Ill., has announced that it will establish a logistics center in Waco, Texas. From this location, the company will distribute its machine work tools and related attachments. The 975,000-square-foot facility will provide Caterpillar additional capacity to serve a growing business segment, and is expected to create 40 jobs and generate $7.9 million in capital investments by 2010.
Caterpillar Logistics Services Inc. (Cat Logistics), a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar, will establish and operate the centralized distribution facility to serve multiple Caterpillar divisions. The operation will enhance logistics flexibility and drive high turnover of products, according to a news release from the company.
The building will be fully operational in the third quarter 2007.
