Jobfox, an Internet-based career and job placement site, predicts construction as among the employment sectors most likely to grow as a result of the Obama administration’s economic initiatives.
McLean, Va.-based Jobfox bases some of its selections on a likely $700 billion (or more) job stimulus package the new administration is proposing. That initiative includes a goal to create or save 2.5 million jobs over the next two years.
According to Jobfox, the most wanted new jobs, listed by major Obama initiatives, will include several tied to the construction of roads, bridges, transit and rural broadband networks. The positions likely to benefit include:
· construction managers
· project managers
· civil engineers
· computer-aided drafting specialists; and
· telecommunications engineers.
In addition to construction, Jobfox predicts jobs tied to greater oversight of financial markets, health care modernization and energy independence will grow under the new administration.
Among the energy-related positions likely to be in demand are electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and biofuels chemists, according to Jobfox.
