Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo Two Weeks Away

More than 130 manufacturers are scheduled to exhibit at the event.

The Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo, organized by German firm Messe Frankfurt, is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre. According to a press release, the event is the only trade show serving the waste, recycling and public works markets.

 

For the 12th year of the annual event, more than 130 manufacturers from Canada, China, Italy and the U.S.A. will display the latest products and services in offered to the industry. Product categories will include composting systems, scrap recycling, public works, landfill operations, transfer stations, recycling equipment, trucks & heavy equipment, waste treatment, software and more.

 

Held concurrently with the exposition, the Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo offers a platform for networking at industry and association events and education through its seminar program, the press release says. The latest technology and legislation for the waste and recycling industry will be presented by experts and leaders from across Canada during the association sponsored seminar program.

 

The program will contain 20 distinct educational sessions in a variety of formats that will cover a wide range of topics from compost markets, hazardous waste compliance, disposal and recycling trends to transfer stations and discussions surrounding the exportation of waste to the U.S, according to the press release.  Sponsoring organizations include: British Columbia Environment Industry Association, Composting Council of Canada, Ontario Waste Management Association, SWANA – BC Pacific Chapter, Recycling Council of Alberta, Recycling Council of British Columbia and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

 

Finally, complementing the seminar program, the plenary session will be offered free to all Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo attendees, sponsored by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.  “Getting to 50 Percent Diversion: Success Stories from Canadian Municipalities”, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre. Members from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities who participate on FCM’s Green Municipal Fund will discuss how municipalities can take their waste diversion efforts to the next level considering important factors such as location, size, public policy, infrastructure, and civic engagement on increasing waste diversion.
