Progress is continuing in the development of the program for the 2004 C&D World show, the Annual Meeting of the Construction Materials Recycling Association (CMRA). The 2004 event takes place Jan. 25-28, 2004 at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans.
According to CMRA executive director William Turley, several speakers and presentations have already been confirmed for the show. Dr. Timothy Townsend of the University of Florida will offer an overview of state regulations affecting the C&D recycling industry.
Results from the CMRA/Army Corps of Engineers study on recycling concrete with lead-based paint on it will be presented by Steve Cosper of the Corp’s Construction Engineering & Research Lab. Also planned is a panel on marketing fines from mixed C&D recycling facilities.
A new feature being planned for the 2004 meeting is a formal fundraising dinner Monday evening to kick off the development of the CMRA Response Fund. The Fund will provide resources to provide advocacy for C&D recyclers throughout the country.
