Description: On July 15-16, 2003, the Department of Energy's Office of Environmental Management (EM) will host a small business workshop. The purpose of the day-and-a-half workshop is to provide a forum for exchanging ideas on how the EM program can best assist the small business community and mitigate barriers that may have affected small businesses in effectively competing for environmental management program scopes of work.

Experts will be present to respond to questions and work through barriers identified by small business firms on the EM Small Business website.

Additionally, information on several contracts that will be set aside for small businesses will be provided to attendees.

In conjunction with the Workshop, on July 14, 2003, EM will hold a pre-solicitation conference for multiple-award indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity contracts. The Department plans to award multiple ID/IQ contracts for environmental remediation services and deactivation, demolition and removal at sites throughout the country.

Both of these events will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, in Nashville Tennessee. Please visit the website (http://www.em.doe.gov/emsb) for information on hotel registration.

The deadline for hotel registration at the special rate for the conference and workshop is June 25, 2003. For additional information on the EM Small Business Workshop please contact, Kay Rash, EM Small Business Program Manager, (202) 586-5420.
