A developer in Vancouver, Wash., has abandoned a plan to start a construction debris recycling facility at an old landfill, according to a report in the Columbian (Vancouver, Wash.).
Paul Christensen’s decision followed two weeks after the Vancouver City Council rejected his request to rezone the former Boise Cascade landfill from light industrial to heavy industrial to accommodate the proposed facility, according to the report.
The rezone would have allowed for the recycling of wood, concrete, asphalt and scrap metal on the site.
