The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) has asked the owner of an Illinois demolition company to remove construction and demolition debris dumped at the Dixie Square Mall last week, according to a report in the Daily Southtown (Tinley Park, Ill.).
The IEPA began looking into illegal dumping at the mall when a man came to the site looking to unload a truck of debris, IEPA spokeswoman Maggie Carson tells the Daily Southtown.
Carson tells the paper that the owner of the demolition company—GM Demolition of Thornton, Ill.—admitted to dumping 20 cubic yards of C&D debris.
According to the report, he did not receive a ticket and agreed to remove the material.
