An event held by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) in suburban Detroit will include a roundtable discussion on planning brownfield redevelopment projects. The Feb. 8, 2018, program takes place at Suburban Showplace in Novi, Michigan, near Detroit.
The discussion, titled “Transformational Brownfield Plans for Everyone Else,” will be led by Tom Wackerman, president of ASTI Environmental and takes place from 8:00 to 9:15 a.m. that day. It is the fourth consecutive year Wackerman has hosted a roundtable at the ICSC event on the topic.
According to an e-mail from ASTI, the discussion will focus on sources and uses of incentives (such as tax credits, grants and loans), what an eligible project looks like and how to put it together. Wackerman has obtained more than $200 million worth of incentives for real estate developers and speaks nationally and internationally about environmental risk management, presumptive remedies to difficult environmentally contaminated sites and perfecting public-private partnerships.
Brighton, Michigan-based ASTI Environmental was founded by Tom Wackerman and Peter Collins in 1985 and has taken part in numerous real estate redevelopment projects.
