Residents near a proposed recycling plant in Bridgeport, Connecticut, are reportedly ready to fight plans for a concrete and asphalt recycling plant to be located in their neighborhood.
According to News 12 Connecticut, O & G Industries wants to move its plant from its current location on Seaview Avenue to a new location at 92 Howard Ave.
Residents have reportedly voiced concerned about dust and noise from the facility as well as a potential decrease in property values.
An attorney for O & G Industries, told the television station that the proposed facility is in an industrial zone where residents may not be able to see it. The attorney also says the facility safely disposes of its materials.
The proposal goes before a Zoning Board of Appeals meeting in June.
According to its website, O&G is one of the Northeast’s leading providers of construction services and products. For more than 90 years, O&G has completed some of the region’s most challenging projects.
