The new Boyas Recycling Construction & Demolition (C&D) Material Recovery Facility (MRF) isn’t just a project; it’s a milestone for high-volume C&D recycling in North America. When fully operational in late 2025, the Valley View, Ohio, plant will process more than 150,000 tons annually, setting new benchmarks for recovery, efficiency and landfill diversion.

Designed and built in partnership with Viably and Turmec, the facility combines leading-edge technologies with advanced plant system expertise. The result is a cohesive, automated system featuring preshredding, wind-sifting, multiple screening steps, ferrous and nonferrous recovery and optical sorting—all engineered to produce cleaner, higher-value output with greater efficiency.

“Boyas Recycling has taken a monumental step forward in sustainability with the acquisition of a state-of-the-art C&D MRF from Turmec and Viably,” says Pete Ristagno Jr., co-owner of Boyas Recycling. “This advanced system, featuring cutting-edge European technology, is unlike anything the U.S. C&D recycling industry has seen before.”

And progress is moving fast. By August 2025, installation was well underway at the Valley View site. In September, site updates reached major milestones, including the entrance build-out and installation of the advanced waste screen. As the project nears commissioning, the energy on-site is described as “electric.” Every step brings this state-of-the-art facility closer to reality—designed to increase recovery, maximize landfill diversion and support a more sustainable future for the region.

Stay tuned for more! Viably and Turmec will soon announce additional C&D system projects designed to raise the bar for recovery nationwide.
