B.L. Duke Inc., Chicago, has been awarded the contract to demolish the 47,000-square-foot Grane Transportation Warehouse in Cicero, Ill. The warehouse was involved in a fire and posed an imminent danger to the surrounding community.
“They’re (B.L. Duke) a one stop shop. They handle everything,” Rob Newman, Grane Transportation vice president, says. “They have a heavy hauling division that brings in the machinery, a fleet of trucks that hauls away the debris and a scrap metal recycling facility for all the recyclables. Not to mention, they professionally handled all necessary permitting with the state and local municipalities.”
“Safety is of the utmost importance. It must be practiced and reinforced daily,” Lou Plucinski, B.L. Duke president and CEO, says.
