Bandit Industries has made its Model 4680 Beast Recycler available as a self-propelled version by adding a Caterpillar 325 track undercarriage.
The mobile horizontal materials processing machine is operated by a radio remote controller and can be maneuvered from a distance.
Powered by an 860 hp diesel engine, the Beast can process stumps and logs up to 40 inches in diameter.
Bandit has also introduced the Color Critter II, an attachment that allows the Beast Recyclers to add color to mulch.
The attachment is an updated and simplified version of Bandit’s original Color Critter system, which disburses colorants onto wood materials during the final grind of the mulch-making process.
The Color Critter II has fewer moving parts, designed to reduce maintenance. A plunger is used to open or close the slots that drop colorant onto the wood and a dial regulates the amount of time the color disbursement slot is open. The control system is tied to the Beast’s electronic system. After the desired color level has been programmed, the colorant is automatically dispersed based on the speed of the material through the infeed conveyor.
A set of spray nozzles discharges water onto the wood to help the colorant stick to the material.
