Bandit Dealer Meeting Draws International Audience

Dealers from 22 countries representing six continents gathered in Michigan for meeting.

Distributors of wood debris recycling and tree care equipment from around the world met for a week of sales and service seminars, product demonstrations and plant tours during the 2008 Bandit Dealer meeting, held every three years at the company’s Remus, Mich., headquarters.

Bandit Industries Inc. invited dealers from 22 countries representing six continents for the conference in early September. The focus of the nearly week-long event, held at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant and Bandit’s corporate headquarters was emerging markets in biomass and wood energy.

“Our dealers are the ones out there on the front lines every day selling our equipment,” says Bandit President Jerry Morey. “We feel it is important to keep them informed of growing trends, and in this case, to make them aware of the enormous energy possibilities in the United States with regards to biomass energy.”

Bandit produces wood debris reduction equipment, such as chippers and horizontal grinders, which produce end products for those markets.

Central Michigan University’s Steve Lawrence joined the event as keynote speaker during the Welcome Reception, discussing the savings and economies made possible by the university’s use of scrap wood for energy. Morey offered remarks on emerging fuel wood markets both locally and internationally and encouraged attendees to familiarize themselves with ongoing market trends.

In addition to seminars, the event included a Demo Day held at the company’s 220-acre headquarters. Attendees witnessed an array of equipment processing wood debris, including two Beast Recyclers, six hand-fed chippers, six stump grinders and three whole-tree chippers.
