Sweden-based Atlas Copco has completed the acquisition of U.S-based Rapid-Torc, which develops and markets hydraulic torque wrenches. In a news release, Atlas Copco says the acquisition will broaden its product range and extend its expertise and knowledge base to new customers.
Rapid-Torc has offices in Houston and Brussels. In addition to torque wrenches, Rapid-Torc also supplies bolt tensioners and related accessories for high-torque applications.
The acquired business will be part of Atlas Copco’s Industrial Technique business area.
Atlas Copco provides construction and mining equipment, compressors, expanders and air treatment systems, power tools and assembly systems. Its Industrial Technique business area provides industrial power tools, assembly systems, quality assurance products, software and services through a global network.
