Atlas Copco Construction Tools LLC has introduced the HB 10000, the most powerful unit in its line of heavy hydraulic breaker attachments.
The new breaker offers advanced technological features to increase productivity and efficiency in demanding breaking applications. It weighs in at 10 metric tons and delivers 50 percent more impact energy than the company’s HB 7000, based on AEM ratings.
The HB 10000 is designed for primary rock breaking as an alternative to certain drilling and blasting applications. It is also capable of performing heavy excavation and trenching tasks, as well as demolition of large concrete structures.
The breaker accepts hydraulic flow of 119 to 140 gallons per minute at operating pressures of 2,320 to 2,610 psi and delivers an impact rate of up to 380 blows per minute. The breaker is suitable for carriers in the 85 to 140 metric ton weight class.
For built-in protection, the HB 10000 features PowerAdapt, a system that automatically shuts down the breaker in the event that it receives excessive oil pressure from the carrier. The breaker returns to normal function once the situation is corrected. This is designed to prevent damage to internal breaker components and provide protection against carrier auxiliary circuit set-up complications that can arise when attaching the breaker to different carriers.
