Atlas Copco Extends MultiGrapple Range

Company adds six models to serve carriers with service weights between 1,400 and 160,000 pounds.

Atlas Copco Construction Equipment LLC, Commerce City, Colo., has extended its line of MultiGrapples. The company has added six models to serve carrier units with a service weight from 1,400 pounds to 160,000 pounds.

The MultiGrapples are designed for material sorting and loading, as well as demolition of masonry and wood structures.

The grapples have a 360-degree hydraulic rotary drive unit that is designed to speed up positioning.

All main components are made of quality steel. Hydraulic cylinders and components are protected against damage. In addition, the blades are designed to be reversed and replaced easily to minimize downtime and service cost. An open lattice jaw design offers improved jobsite visibility for the operator. The design also reduces the likelihood of demolition or wood materials jamming in the grapple jaws because the open lattice design, with elongated slots, allows loose material such as sand and mortar to fall through, making it easier to sort materials.

The MultiGrapple line will be among several Atlas Copco products on display at the National Demolition Association Convention, which will be April 5-8, 2009, in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Atlas Copco will also have the HB 3600, CC 2500 Combi Cutter and DP 2000 pulverizer at the event.
