Atlas Copco, Commerce City Co., has introduced the SBU 340 to its line of hydraulic breakers. According to a company press release, the SBU 340 is a “highly productive yet compact breaker for carriers in the 9,920-pound to 19,840-pound weight class. Other features include:
· No side bolts, tie rods or parting line;
· Double-retainer bars for extended wear life;
· Full-length floating tool bushing reduces wear on the bushing and working tool and helps prevent tool breakage;
· Simple tool retainer lock mechanism allows quick changing of components;
· Energy recovery design that captures reflected energy when breaking very hard rock;
· 48-percent faster impact rate than its predecessor, the SB 300;
· Slim profile of the SBU 340 makes it easier for the operator to see and position the hammer;
· Well-suited for road work, trenching, general demolition, primary and secondary breaking, and underwater breaking.
