The Peterson brand of Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Astec Industries Inc. has made available its new 3710E model horizontal grinder for wood recycling and processing applications, calling it “a versatile, high-performance solution built to tackle more jobs with greater mobility and efficiency than ever before.”
The company says the 3710E will be on display at the ConExpo-Con/Agg convention and expo in Las Vegas March 3-7, 2026.
“Designed with exceptional transportability, the 3710E moves easily between job sites without special permits or heavy-haul trucking, delivering true high-output performance without sacrificing mobility,” states the company.
Peterson says the new grinder is equipped with a 755-horsepower Caterpillar C18 engine and expanded screening area that provide it with increased processing capacity within a compact footprint.
Other features of the 3710E include a grate screening area that, combined with what Peterson calls its easy-change tooling system, can help operators maximize throughput, reduce maintenance intervals and boost profitability.
The model’s three-stage grinding system has been designed to produce a more consistent, high-quality product, says Peterson, while the Astec Impact Release System included uses air bags to absorb impacts from contaminated feedstock, designed to reduce costly downtime.
“Every element of the 3710E is engineered to work harder and last longer,” states Peterson, adding the model can be equipped with optional track widths and a transport dolly designed to ensure the machine can maneuver easily, even in tight or challenging jobsite conditions.
