Asphalt Institute Names New Chairman

William H. Haverland, manager of asphalt marketing and sales at ConocoPhillips Co., Houston, has been named the 2005 chairman of the Asphalt Institute Board of Directors.

Haverland has been a long time member of the Institute and has served on a number of AI committees, including membership, HS&E and the personal advisory committee. He has also served as co-chair of the Asphalt Paving Environmental Council (APEC) and the Asphalt Science Committee (ASC).
