Ashley County, Ark., has started building a new construction and demolition debris landfill meant to help conserve space in the county’s main landfill, according to the Ashley County Ledger (Hamburg, Ark.).
The new landfill will be a Class IV and will be used for C&D debris, yard debris, old furniture, carpet and appliances, according to the report.
Bill Gaunt, the engineer for the project, tells the Ashley County Ledger that the new landfill will be between 12 and 15 feet deep with a capacity of nearly a million cubic yards.
