A Waste Management Inc. landfill in Tontitown, Ark., has opened a new Class 4 cell at its facility, which handles construction and demolition debris, extending the life of the landfill by 15 years, according to a report in the Morning News (Springdale, Ark.).
The new cell cost about $800,000, according to the report, and it includes an 18-inch clay liner.
Waste Management officials tell the Morning News that they hope opening the area will curb illegal dumping of C&D debris in the area as well as serve the community’s debris disposal needs.
