The city commission of Ardmore, Oklahoma, has ordered the demolition of two buildings in its downtown commercial district.
According to an online article by the Daily Ardmoreite, one of the buildings “was damaged after a neighboring building collapsed into it in July of 2019.” The city commission ruled that structure and another nearby did “not meet construction guidelines.”
The second building was not damaged by the 2019 collapse, but instead was struck by a vehicle last year that, according to the newspaper, “left it collapsing into the street.”
At least one of the two property owners will appeal the demolition order, according to the Daily Ardmoreite.
