App for Scrap Sellers Being Created

Entrepreneur says his app can help scrap sellers find their best price.

Rockaway, N.J.-based iScrap App Inc. has announced the creation of its new app for the iPhone and iPod Touch, called the iScrap App. The application is designed to enable users to locate scrap yards, see the materials they buy, send pictures of materials for questions and pricing, request containers, and get driving directions, hours of operation and contact information, according to iScrap App Inc.

According to a news release from the company, the iScrap App for the iPhone will be available to the more than 50 million iPhone iOS device users, “plus millions more are anticipated when Verizon welcomes the iPhone on February 10, 2011.”

“We are excited to be working with iScrap, Inc. on their industry-changing app and website solutions,” says Darren Seys, CEO of Peak Seven Advertising in Deerfield Beach, Fla. “We were very impressed by their knowledge of the industry, which was imperative in developing an effective software solution.”

The amazing part of the whole experience is that we already have version 2.0 mapped out prior to version 1.0 release. This will be a long-term relationship for years to come, and it is a pleasure working with a forward thinking team that has integrity.”

iScrap App Inc. says its team of employees also has developed the Recycler’s Toolbox, “which allows scrap yards to have a professionally designed website without the professional price tag in a fraction of the time.”

The company lists as features of the iScrap App:
•    customers can locate and communicate with local scrap yards;
•    multiple scrap yards’ pricing can be checked at the same time;
•    pictures of scrap materials can be taken and sent from the app;
•    scrap yards can be called or e-mailed from the app; and
•    directions and hours of operation for different companies can be obtained.

“I came up with the idea for the iScrap App after the market crashed in 2008, and I lost 90 percent of my business,” says Tom Buechel, founder of iScrap App Inc. “I know this is a revolutionary tool that will help recyclers find new scrap yards that they didn’t know existed and bring scrap yards new customers and more business.”
