Thalheimer Brothers acquires Ansam Metals

Thalheimer Brothers, a Philadelphia-based nonferrous scrap metal recycling company, has acquired Baltimore-based Ansam Metals, a broker and processor of cupro-nickels, monels, brass mill specialty items and other nonferrous metals.

Following the acquisition, Ansam will operate as a division within Thalheimer and maintain operations from its Baltimore location.

Thalheimer, which has been in operation since 1939, handles brass, copper, nickel alloy and stainless steel. The company processes mixed loads of alloyed and nonalloyed scrap to produce what it calls complex blends with specific chemical properties.
