Alpine Waste & Recycling COO Elected to Education Board

Alek Orloff, chief financial officer for Alpine Waste & Recycling, Denver, has been elected to the board of directors of the Adams 14 Education Foundation.

“I am proud of this opportunity to serve the Adams 14 Education Foundation, and I thank Alpine Waste & Recycling for its encouragement of my interest in contributing to the community,” says Orloff.

The foundation provides financial support to the schools and students of the Adams 14 School District in the form of grants to schools, mini-grants for teachers’ projects, and scholarships for disadvantaged students.

Orloff also serves on the Colorado Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission as one of the nine commissioners appointed by Governor Bill Ritter. The Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission enforces state solid and hazardous waste regulations with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The commission also acts as a judiciary body to hear appeals of administrative environmental enforcement action penalties from the Colorado Administrative Courts.
