Alek Orloff, chief financial officer of Alpine Waste & Recycling, Commerce City, Colo., has been elected to the board of directors of the Colorado Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (WANA), Silver Springs, Md.
Orloff’s responsibilities with Alpine include financing for Alpine Waste and managing relationships with the company’s stakeholders, ensuring the company’s ability to manage growth.
Orloff also serves on the state of Colorado’s Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission (SHWC) as one of the nine commissioners. The SHWC is a regulatory board that enforces state solid and hazardous waste regulations with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The commission also acts as a judiciary body to hear appeals of administrative environmental enforcement action penalties from the Colorado Administrative Courts.
