The Colorado’s Association for Recycling has recognized Alpine Waste & Recycling as the state’s most outstanding business for its recycling/diversion program. The company and its “Altogether Recycling” service for its “long-term dedication, innovation and inspiration for recycling in Colorado” while handing out its 2009 honors.
The CAFR noted that Alpine Waste & Recycling “vaulted to the front of Colorado’s recycling efforts after the completion of its Altogether Recycling Plant in 2007.” The single-stream facility sorts materials on-site, eliminating the hassle and the excuses for customers who no longer have to separate recyclables into three separate bins.
Last year, Alpine’s Altogether Recycling Plant processed 35,000 tons of material that otherwise might have ended up in the landfill.
“The numbers reflect how aggressively and innovatively Alpine has promoted recycling,” said Marjorie Griek, executive director of the CAFR. The Colorado recycling organization brings together individuals and leaders in business, education, nonprofits and state and local government to turn ever-greater amounts of waste into resources.
