Aggregate Industries US (AIUS), part of Holcim Group Co., has announced that three of its facilities received Safety Achievement Awards from the Illinois Department of Mines and Minerals. The facilities were recognized for accomplishing a Zero Lost Time Accident Rate in 2012. The accomplishment is based on a company’s lost time injuries record, which is defined as an accident that requires an employee to take time off for recovery.
“We congratulate our employees for their accomplishment and unwavering attention to safety,” says Graham Hardwick, senior vice president of Aggregate Industries US Mid-West Region. “They have shown great commitment to implementing the company’s universal safety measures and taking ownership for personal safety. We’re proud of their achievements and look forward to continued excellence.”
The facilities receiving the award are Dyer Lake Pit #34, located in Burlington, Wis.; Algonquin Pit #5, located in Algonquin, Ill.; and McHenry West Pit #26, located in McHenry, Ill.
Aggregate Industries US provides aggregate and construction materials to markets in 18 states and more than 300 cities.
