US Scrap & Recycling will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Acme Refining Scrap Iron & Metal effective immediately.

Acme Refining, founded in 1973 by Lou Baron, has grown from a one-man/one truck company to a fleet of more than 180 trucks, a team of 25 salespeople and more than 350 employees.
In addition to collecting and processing scrap metal, the company has expanded its services to paper and cardboard, plastics, demolition, oil and waste removal and document destruction.
With the addition of US Scrap & Recycling, Acme’s service area will span from Southern Wisconsin to Western and Southern Illinois and to all of
Acme’s nine locations operate on a combined 100-plus acres including a nonferrous metal warehouse, seven steel processing yards, a document destruction offsite shredding facility, a mechanic’s shop and a welding facility where Acme manufactures and repairs its own industrial equipment.
