Dirt perfect: YouTuber embraces Demco Side Dump

Dirt Perfect is an excavating business owned by Mike Simon and located in Derby, Indiana. In addition to his excavating work, Mike also posts videos on YouTube documenting his projects, which has helped him build a trusted reputation within the construction and excavation industries. In 2023, Dirt Perfect started operating a Demco side dump trailer after previously using end dump trailers. Living in Indiana, Mike did not have much experience with side dump trailers before this. After a year of operating the side dump, he took the time to share his experiences with the trailer in the video above.

Demco side dump trailers users often comment on how fast it unloads, and Mike is no exception. With cylinders positioned at each end of the tub, the cycle times are significantly accelerated. 

The trademarked FlexCorner™ design ensures structural integrity by allowing flexibility between the main body and G-Rail, preventing weld cracking. This flexibility acts as a shock absorber during transportation and dumping, eliminating the need for additional welds and repairs. The low center of gravity, achieved by situating the tub below the top of the chassis frame rails, ensures stability during pulling, cornering and dumping, reducing the risk of tipping without compromising the dump angle or loading height. Three pivot points, strategically located on the trailer, evenly distribute dump pressure, thereby enhancing stability and longevity. 

The unique tub latch feature, exclusive to Demco SD trailers, enables direction changes from the driver’s side, preventing accidental unlatching of all corners simultaneously, which could lead to significant damage or safety hazards.
