Terex Roadbuilding, Oklahoma City, Okla., has named Road Machinery Services Inc. (RMS) a Top 5 Dealer for its sales and support performance with Terex’s Trashmaster landfill equipment line in 2010. The award represents the Statesville, N.C.-based company’s ninth straight top performance recognition since becoming a Terex distributor in 2001.

Fred Heath, Sr., president of RMS, says, “We are honored to be recognized, once again, as a top performing dealer, especially since this year’s award included companies who represent the entire Terex Roadbuilding equipment line.”

Mark Oehmke, director of sales and marketing for Terex Roadbuilding, adds “Road Machinery Services has successfully carved (out) an extremely successful niche in the landfill business. Their longevity can be attributed to their experienced team who are dedicated to the success of the customer.”

RMS, founded in 1951 as Mendaloff Equipment, was one of the earliest rebuilders and resellers of crawler tractor undercarriage components. It expanded its service and sales focus to include landfill equipment in 1979, when current president, Fred Heath, Sr., purchased the company and changed the name to Road Machinery Services. The company has since started aftermarket repair service and wheel remanufacturing for landfill compactors and supporting equipment.

RMS was signed as an authorized Terex distributor for the Trashmaster compactor line in 2001. The Trashmaster line is the only OEM product RMS represents. The company’s factory-trained service technicians support the compactors.

“The whole dealership revolves around the landfill,” Steve O’Neal, Terex Roadbuilding district manager, says, “Their team understands the landfill business and realizes that downtime equals lost revenue. They make sure that the landfill operations are taken care of, regardless of whether it’s sales or service.”
