512 MCCLOSKEY TROMMEL
Fit to travel with 30 percent less length than previous models, the newest 5-foot-by-12-foot trommel from McCloskey International has been developed to meet customer requirements for the most demanding road restrictions.
• The version of the 512 model trommel has been revamped from the wheeled 512 model, with only the drum remaining from the original construction.
• It does incorporate previous McCloskey features, such as the Drum X-Change System and the 180 degree radial stacker.
• The feed conveyor and radial conveyor have both been upsized to 36-inch belts from 30 inches.
• The crawler undercarriage is designed to hydraulically raise and lower itself through 36 inches of elevation, allowing operators to raise the entire machine to increase the trommel’s angle of departure. This allows for easier loading onto trailers, as well as increased ability on difficult terrain.

GEHL ASPHALT PAVERS
Gehl Co. has introduced two new Power Box Asphalt Pavers.
• The pavers are designed for commercial and municipal applications. The new 1448 Plus and 1648 Plus Asphalt Pavers feature fully-extendable screed extensions that allow the machines adapt to different job applications, such as driveways, recreational courts, bike paths and parking lots.
• A full-floating, adjustable and vibratory screed is standard on both Power Box models. The screed’s 8-foot length and 13-inch width provides a solid foundation for smooth, accurate and finished asphalt mats. Crown and invert pitch adjustments are provided through screw-type jacks located at the center and ends of the main screed assembly. These adjustments allow the operator to maintain a consistent depth and develop drainage contours within the mat.
• To heat the screed, the 1648 Plus uses a propane burner system. By preheating the screed, asphalt is prevented from bonding to the screed’s wear plate and scoring mat finish. The 1448 Plus uses the engine exhaust to heat the screen with propane-heated screed as an option.
• The 1448 Plus is powered by a 36-hp Yanmar water-cooled diesel engine, a 44-percent increase in power from the model it replaced, according to a news release from the company. The 1648 Plus is powered by a 48-hp Yanmar engine, a 19-percent increase in power from the previous model. Both engines have EPA Tier III capability.

• The MPH122-2 is powered by a 482-hp, Tier 3 compliant Deutz V6 engine, which provides about 9 percent more horsepower than the previous model.
• The MPH122-2 additionally offers three new rotor options—a
91.7-inch wide stabilizer rotor with Kennametal paddle-type teeth and a 19.7-inch maximum cutting depth; a 99.6-inch wide universal rotor with a 16.5-inch cutting depth; and a 99.6-inch wide universal rotor with bolt-on Kennemetal tooth holders and a 16.5-inch cutting depth. Bolt-on tooth holders can be easily replaced at the work site without welding, reducing repair time, according to a news release from the manufacturer.
• The MPH122-2 has an integrated hydrostatic rotor drive to ensure optimal efficiency.
