Astec A50 jaw crusher

Astec Industries, a Chattanooga, Tennessee-based equipment manufacturer specializing in asphalt road building, aggregate processing and concrete production, has launched the A50 jaw crusher, the first model in its new A-series of jaw crushers. The A50 draws on Pioneer, Telsmith and Osborn jaw crushers and is designed for high performance in demanding primary applications. Key features include:

  • a keyed and bolted frame to eliminate high-stress welded joints for enhanced structural integrity and long-term durability
  • solid side plates to boost reliability and add strength where required
  • a cast swing jaw with angled wear plate to prevent material bridging and strengthen high-stress zones for performance under heavy loads

Versa clamshell bucket

Originally manufactured in 1980, Astoria, Oregon-based Versa Corp. LLC’s Versa Bucket is a specialized, clamshell-style attachment for skid-steer loaders. Engineered for controlled gripping and streamlined material handling, the Versa Bucket can help separate heavy inert materials, such as concrete or large timbers, from lighter debris before further processing. Key features include:

  • a heavy-duty steel jaw and gripping teeth designed to allow operators to scrape and squeeze materials firmly and cleanly
  • eight different models (25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 200 and 300) featuring varying widths, capacities, cylinder sizes and closing forces

Komatsu hybrid-powered excavator

Komatsu America Corp., based in Chicago, is offering the PC365LC-11 excavator, which features a refreshed exterior design, an enhanced operator cab and several new standard and optional features optimized for the North American construction market. The dedicated electric swing motor improves swing speeds and operational efficiency, reducing cycle times in multifunction applications. Key features include:

  • an ultra-low idle state that reduces fuel consumption by up to 20 percent, extending runtimes and lowering total cost of ownership
  • an ultracapacitor storing an additional 70 electric horsepower for acceleration when the engine is in ultra-low idle, providing a hybrid power aspect to the machine
  • a premium heated air-suspension operator seat with improved cushioning and multiple adjustments
