As this month’s cover story (“Heat and Pressure,” starting on page 20) attests, the attachments deployed at a job site can be a critical factor in how efficiently a project is completed.
At the Cross Florida Barge Canal Bridge job site, contractor Rick Wohlfiel of PAW Materials Inc. says two shearing and processing attachments made by Allied-Gator Inc., Youngstown, Ohio, helped his company pulverize the bridge’s concrete deck and its support spans while also separating the reinforcing steel.
Such success stories are repeated daily by contractors and their employees using increasingly customized attachments that work in combination with skilled operators of excavators, material handlers and small loaders.
Following are descriptions and features of a number of attachment products that have been introduced recently by manufacturers.
