The National Demolition Association (NDA) has been following developments with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA’s) respirable crystalline silica rule since being enacted and has heard from members regarding compliance challenges with the rule. OSHA has recently indicated that they will be publishing a request for information (RFI) in the Federal Register in an effort to understand these challenges from the regulated community.

With this in mind, NDA has asked its members to respond to the following questions by sending responses to NDA Director of Govenment Affairs Kevin McKenney via email at kmckenney@demolitionassociation.com by May 1:

• What are your top three compliance issues with OSHA’s crystalline silica rule?

• What are your main issues with Table 1, particularly for demolition-specific work?

• What steps can OSHA take to clarify the rule and make compliance easier?
